If kids would rather be praised than yelled at, but would rather be yelled at than ignored, then it is WAY past time to ignore the awfulness that is coming from from all those who have no shame, no sense of decency.

It may very well be too late for the Midterms, and perhaps for our Country, but I really wish you all at The Bulwark would stop repeating (and giving a platform) to the awfulness by saying, “Can you believe this awfulness was said/written/tweeted?” Time to focus on and give a voice and a platform solely to all who are doing the right thing. Their voices and actions are being lost in the piles of shit being pumped out by the pro-fascist crowd. We don’t need to continue to help them spread it. Enough! IGNORE them!!

How is it that so many people who would not buy a pillow from the MyPillow guy, are happy to sleep (or tweet) in the same bed as Elon Musk? Time for the Bulwark crew to get up and get out!

Soon Donald Jr., Eric, and Ivanka along with Donald Sr. will be going off to prison for 30 to 40 years for massive tax fraud.

I think we should start building more insane asylums. Musk should be the first to be granted a life-time commitment to such an establishment. These people are truly insane, much more so than I once imagined. If they take over the government after the midterms I hope the military will intervene. I can't believe I just said that, but i'm not certain there would be another way to rescue the American people.

Imagine, if you will, an AK-47 laying diagonally, 45° to the left, and laying on top of this gun, laying 45° to the right, is an AR-15. Between these 2 weapons is the face of a Joker. It's a laughing face, but it's not laughing with. It's laughing at.

Now pan out a little bit, and look at the whole picture. You are now looking at a flag.

No, this is not the Twilight Zone.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is a flag that many Americans on the political right would be proud to wave.

Welcome to our current zone.

Well, one good piece of news: Lindsey lost his SC court case - he has to testify! Ah, the poor baby.

What's wrong with them is they consider themselves righteous enemies in a civil war. This is why they're defending the attack, one meant to kidnap and maim the U.S. Speaker. I don't for a minute consider these conspiracy theories to be political deflections. They stoke it, they welcome it, and tnow they're defending it. They want intimidation, they want terror. There are Governor and Secretary of State candidates proudly running on the "our party is not permitted to lose" platform. The unstable people they inspire are quite clearly their terror wing, just as the IRA or Hezbollah have terror wings.

The joking and lying about the attack on Paul Pelosi and attempted attack on Nancy Pelosi coming from high profile Republicans is not only vile and despicable it is also giving a green light to far-right extremists to commit more violence against the party they have been brainwashed to believe is the evil enemy that will destroy the country.

Musk needs a sanity test.

This southern historian is reminded of nothing so much as the Brooks-Sumner affair of 1856, in which the response to a horrific assault (this one on the actual Senate floor by a representative against a senator) saw white southerners applauding Brooks and ridiculing Sumner, while antislavery northerners were horrified. It didn't end well.

Hate to burst Mona’s bubble about Ted Cruz being “one of the good ones” but not quite true. He changed his tune less than 72 hrs after it happened. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/ted-cruz-paul-pelosi-misinformation-tweet-b2214574.html

There is no excuse for the shooting of Scalise. I recall that guy was a Bernie supporter and Bernie condemned his behaviors immediately. Bernie did not incite violence. And let’s not forget that Congresswoman Gabby Giffords was shot in the head in 2011. I don’t hear Democrats inciting violence but I hear Republicans doing so almost daily. Yes, what IS wrong with these people?

Another comment as I go through the articles - What makes anyone think that someone who denies that the election was fair and exceptionally fraud-free even has the capability to reduce inflation, vote for bills and perform any other sundry governmental duties?

If you have the stomach to read the crazy conspiracy theories or ridiculous justifications for the attack - just in the comment section of Charlie’s interview with Reid, it seems Mona’s 70% estimate is pretty accurate. Equal parts horrifying and heartbreaking. I’ve seen the hypocrisy and the lack of shame and the callous cruelty play out over and over and I still somehow find it hard to believe that people can say and do these things.

I read the article regarding the education system in Hungary. I see the same thing starting to happen here - the passing of Wisconsin's Act 10 in which teachers were demonized, the various teacher's strikes around the country, the whole anti-CRT/ don't say Gay teaching nonsense. How far are the MAGA people willing to go with their attacks on our education system? An educated public makes our country truly great.
